The conference dinner will be held in Vasa Museum, at the main hall (Skeppshallen) where the Vasa ship is displayed. The Vasa is a Swedish warship that was built in 1628. It sank on her maiden voyage in the Stockholm harbor, sailing only 1300 meters.
The wrechage of the ship was relocated in the 1950's. It was finally salvaged in 1961. The anaerobic waters of the Stockholm harbour helped preserve the wooden structure of the ship to a certain extent. After spending 333 years in the water, it is currently being preserved in the Vas a Museum, where it is available to see by the public.
